The main components of cannabis are two components, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), it is known that both of these components belong to the same class of cannabinoids. According to research, it is these components that have the greatest impact on the human body, many fans of psychoactive cannabis prefer to choose varieties in which there is a high level of THC, and CBD is practically absent. But, according to researchers, this is the main mistake of marijuana lovers, after conducting a comparative analysis of these two substances, scientists have discovered an interesting pattern, if cannabis is rich in CBD, then the side effects from its use are reduced to almost zero.
What is the difference between these components? THC is the main psychoactive component of cannabis, it is thanks to it that after its use many experience euphoria, a feeling of intoxication, a change in space-time perception, a strong feeling of hunger and other consequences. THC also mimics the actions of anandamide, a natural component that is found in the brain of humans and animals and is a neurotransmitter and neuroregulator. Also, it is with this component that the appearance of pain syndrome, depression, decreased appetite is associated, and it is he who has a great influence on human reproductive function.
CBD is not a psychoactive component, therefore, when it is used, euphoric results are not obtained, as in the case of cannabis rich in THC. The main advantage of varieties with a high content of CBD is their indispensability in medicine, the absence of side effects inherent in varieties with a high level of THC. It is known that CBD is used for medical purposes to treat psychoses, depression, seizures, vomiting, cancer, is often used as an antioxidant, and is also used in various compounds to treat arthritis, alcoholism, diabetes and other diseases. Also, drugs that have neuroprotective and neurogenic effects are produced on the basis of CBD components.
Unfortunately, most of the data on the positive effects of CBD were obtained after studies conducted on animals, so their results are not recognized as 100% reliable. In order to convince the world community of the positive effects of cannabidiol on the body, some large research centers have begun to independently conduct tests in patients with schizophrenia and rare types of epilepsy. Another team of researchers is starting trials of CBD-based drugs for the treatment of breast cancer.
Also, another useful property of CBD is the treatment of insomnia and a strong sedative effect. But the most ideal option is the use of those varieties of cannabis where the level of THC and CBD is presented in a ratio of 1:1. According to many experts, the use of such varieties of cannabis has minimal side effects, or does not have them at all. Recently, drugs in which the proportion of THC and CBD is 50% each have been actively introduced into medicine and are used in many of its industries. It is practically impossible to get an overdose with the help of these drugs, which is another indisputable advantage that speaks in favor of their use.
Despite all the advantages of using cannabis or drugs containing a large amount of CBD, the use of cannabinoids is illegal in many countries. But manufacturers of medicines still find loopholes in the law and transport the necessary medicines to pharmacies and research centers or carry out direct delivery to the customer's home.
